COVID 19 Virus Update-3/3/21

March 3, 2021

Dear Residents, Families and Partners:

We believe many of you have heard the Texas Governor’s announcement yesterday that he is lifting COVID related restrictions throughout the state as of Wednesday, March 10.  We are sure you all have questions about how this impacts the possible “re-opening” of our Community, especially as it relates to visitation.

In the Governor’s Executive Order GA-34, it states that assisted living facilities and long-term care facilities should continue to follow guidance from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) regarding any visitation and should continue to follow infection control policies and practices issued by HHSC.  Therefore, we do not currently anticipate any changes to our current practices next week.  Our staff will continue to wear masks and practice the COVID related infection control procedures and the COVID related staff and resident assessments that have been in place for almost a year.

Current visitation in our Community that is allowed:

  1. Phase One Visitation – Visitor is screened at the front office, if visitor/visitors are safe to visit based on the screening tool we will direct you to your loved one to either outside seating OR indoors to our Plexiglas set up. All visitors must remain 6 foot apart, wear a mask and have no physical contact with the resident for their safety and yours.
  2. Essential Visitors – Each resident may have two essential visitors, these visitors get to have physical contact with their loved one. Essential visitors are typically the residents POA or closest family members.  To have an essential visit we ask that you call to schedule the visitation with Tammie so that these visits can remain private and uninterrupted.  Each essential visitor needs to have signed our essential visitor form, be screened at arrival and test negative for Coronavirus.  We are preforming free test here at Windsor for essential visitors. We are testing every time someone comes for a visit no matter the frequency at this time.  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your visit as these tests take 15 minutes to receive the results.

We will communicate any changes, based on guidance from the TX HHSC and local health department.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to keep our residents safe.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
